Feeling Out of Practice?

The saying goes "practice makes perfect", but practice doesn't make perfect if you're doing it wrong...

Practice is obviously important, and you can’t progress without it ✨🎪✨ But practicing with bad technique is not going to help you improve either and could potentially lead to injury, so make sure to learn with good and safe technique 💪🏼

In my opinion you can always improve or learn something new so your practice will never end!

Saying that practice makes perfect is implying that if you practice enough you will reach a level of ‘perfection’ and therefore you will no longer need to practice. But as soon as you stop practicing a certain skill, it starts to deteriorate, of course this doesn’t mean you will loose it completely but without practice you won’t be able to perform that skill as well as you could.

That’s why after missing a couple of weeks of class you feel ‘a bit rusty' or 'out of practice’ but as quickly as it feels like you have lost it, remember that just as quickly you will be able to rebuild!

So please never worry about missing a week or two, even if you have been away for years and want to come back, you will still build it all back up and probably enjoy the process twice as much because you will be able to refine those skills and be able to understand them better then the first time round.

Every time you come to a class, you are getting a little bit stronger, a little bit more confident, a little bit more flexible, a little bit more creative, a little bit more co-ordinated. And it’s all those ‘littles’ that build over time and help you progress ✨

Here’s a reminder that returning students are always welcome back in our classes and if you ever want to drop us a message and have a chat about it our inbox is always open ❤️
